I started with Cardinal Logistics only a little over a week ago and they let me go after the first week. The training was a complete joke seeing as how my so-called trainer drove the truck and did most of the work while I could only sit and observe. And when they finally sent me out on my own, some mixups occured over what load went where occured due to miscommunication and disarray on their part. And after working for them for only three days, they let me go without warning. This company makes themselves look all nice and driver friendly but they are nothing of the kind. Don't work for them.

this is the first negative comment i have heard about cardlog. they run pretty good down in my area and what i understand from the drivers i have chatted with they really like it overall. i'm thinking it just wasn't the job for you.

And that becomes clear after working for them for only three days? Okay, I made a few mistakes too but who doesn't when you start a new job in any field? It's not that the job wasn't right for me, it's that they had no patience. Tell me, how can you expect a new guy to work a job like a seasoned veteran when he's just that, new, and when they guys in the office can't even get their act together?

I started with Cardinal on a dedicated account in 1999. During the interview with the manager, he told me that his only job there was to make drivers happy. He was good at his job. If they had not lost the account, I would still be there. Sorry it didn't work out for you.

I've worked for Cardinal for 7 years in Orlando. The work itself is generally easy and the pay is generally above average. If it wasn't for the completely horrible managers at my account - I would probably be very happy with the job. My three bosses are a joke. The head boss is totally lazy and doesn't do any of the work he used to. He occupies his office time playing games on his laptop. My daytime boss is a total and complete idiot. He has never driven a truck and knows nothing about truck driving. He has never been a boss before and knows nothing about how to treat coworkers. He has the organizational skills of roadkill and it is a complete waste of time to ask anything of him. The nighttime boss is a chronic liar and a gossip and will use the schedule to retalliate against drivers who cross him. I should also mention that Cardinal as a company will not support drivers who are involved in any kind of accident or incident. They will always consider it to be your fault and many times will fire you. However, if you are good at keeping your nose clean and happen to find a location not run by morons - Cardinal can be a good company to work for.

sounds to me like trucking 101 varify your load, read your maps, be safe, get the job done. one of those you obviously couldn't do.

i work in orlando also, all my boss has asked of me is simple, be safe, be ontime, be good to the customer, do the job you are supposed to do. that's all i need to worry about. sounds to me like you are a pain in the butt that is too busy worried about yourself than the job. anytime i have a problem they help wether its personal or for the job. his door is always open all i have to do is walk in. but when you cry all the time they get a little tired of hearing it. same as any job. no job is perfect but they have tough job to. be safe and do the job if you can't go get another one.

Cardinal wouldn't even talk to me after I was fired from FMC, who called the police in an attempt to have me arrested! FMC spun off their transportation arm for tax purposes, thinking its now called Blue Wave Logistics or something similar.

Not a difficult job and very similar to Cardinal. I had more experience than all of their senior drivers combined and a history and resume second to none. My 'problem' was my race, sexual orientation, history, expectations, etc. The daily 'anarchy' worked against FMC, not me.:biggrin_255:

Hmmmm Cardinal may be heading down the wrong path with this gw merger........Time will tell, but gw haas very little if nothing to do with hd deliveries too houses.....which will be my job in 2 weeks. Guess I better stretch that 1.5 million miles a tad farther if I wanna keep the job....
