I am greatly considering a career change. To be quite frank. I want to be left alone like 99% of the day, with minimal human contact. People are becoming far to stupid for me to want to be around them. My pap drove his whole life, so it got me thinking about driving. Is it still a majority of alone time? If so, can you recommend good starter companies for me? Thank you.

And you are about to go out into a highway filled with people?

Go into say NYC with millions?

You cannot even sit in a walmart DC Breakroom without being surrounded by a few dozen... or any distribution...

Let's not get into the truckstops where the people leave behind messes.

And you will be packed into a bus with 50 close friends for potentially two or three days or more to get to a orientation with 4 to a hotel room. Then sit a week in class.

    Ha.

You are not going to get off this planet that easily.

I’m like you. I don’t hate people. For the most part I like them, I just don’t like interacting all day everyday with the same people. You will still deal daily with stupidity out on the road. Except now the stupid endangers you in a 40k plus pound missile flying down the road. Hit up YouTube for hours of highway antics xD

I don't mind on the road, and such. But, I am more and more not liking face to face interaction, because usually stupid spills out of their mouths. Even a few hours of solitude would be nice.

Trucking is for you! First, where is your location; we need to know the hiring area you live in.
Also, do you want a private cdl school or trucking company cdl school? Either one will get the job done. Private cdl school gives you more choices of companies to work for.
Can you pass a hair follicle drug test or would you prefer a urine test? Some companies do both or one or the other.

You’ll be alone most of the time.. hours upon hours. :)

Mostly it’s the panhandlers and prostitutes at truck stops, waitresses, calls to dispatch, and law enforcement dot agents and dock workers will be your primary Interactions.

Cant wait until you have face to face interactions with wal-mart dc clerks. Hopefully it wont turn into a face to fist interaction.

Nothing is worse than going through a training period with a company trainer for two months. Once you get passed that then your home free. I really enjoy driving at night, especially if I’m going into New York. I feel where you’re coming from. I was a cable tech for five years and really got tired of dealing with customers. It was either working on a tug boat or cdl school. Since I can’t swim, well here I am

In other words, the cream of society. If the OP is easily offended by stupid people I don't think he'll like trucking.
He might be better off with a career as a lighthouse keeper.
