Career choice, get my CDL at 20?

You can get cdl school, free to you, through the South Carolina WIOA Program.
Visit the school and someone there can get you started on the WIOA Program.

 

If/when you choose a CDL school -- try to pick one that will teach you -- & later final exam you -- on a tractor with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

That way -- later, you won't have a CDL with an automatic transmission restriction.

That's a 120 hr. program, right?

 

Take your time with all of this, becuz:

• Your present age will limit your employment possibilities
• The CDL job market right now (& for the foreseeable future) is REALLY BAD for drivers with less than 1 year of experience.

On the plus side: SC is a GREAT PLACE to enter the industry. Lots of later potential opportunities.

Contact the facility and ask if they still hire new cdl school grads.
