That sounds like an Alex Jones report.
Got links? Did Swift conduct this training on super secret remote truck driving ranges in the Cotswolds?
If true, it's an amazing study in corporate stupidity...

I think the discussion got a little off topic.....
I am asking 2 things:
1) A more accurate outlook on the demand for commercial drivers than what I found at: http://www.careergps.com/occupation...00&desc=&text=truck&init=&offset=&title=Truck Drivers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer&pfp=&major_sector=&showall=yes#.U_jfGtDn_cs
2) A listing of carriers (in addition to Swift) that have terminals within a 30-45 minute drive from Downtown Sacramento that would be willing to take in a licensed, yet inexperienced driver and allow that individual to use the terminal as the 'home base'. -
1) That looks like pretty good data.
I assume you're looking for California only and that fills the bill.
The only next place I'd look would be BLS at the Federal level.
2) Call the carriers and ask.
All the usual suspects.
Or put this one to Chinatown.
If anyone can answer it, he can. -
Theirs definently a shortage of drivers some places, where I live is one of them, companies struggle here in NY, because the insurance companies won't let them hire people unless they have very clean records/license, and 1-2 years experience. Depends on where you live I guess, and the opportunities, and training available to become a truck driver.
max.a Thanks this. -
