I just received my CDL 2 weeks ago and finding it hard to get someone to hire me since I don't have a year of experience with tractor/trailers. Welllll.... not to worry. Today, I hit a parked car with my van that I work in. We exchanged ins info and no police were called but I'm sure it will result in a point on my MVR. I haven't been in an accident in forever but this will pretty much end any hope of anyone taking a chance on me anytime soon. Sorry...just felt like whining...
Career's over before it even started...

You may end up having to go the 1099 company route and get a years experience and then move on to bigger and better things.
Keep trying and tryingDominick253, NavigatorWife and Chinatown Thank this. -

No depression on TTR......Dont give up.....If No police were called,YOUR GOOD! No Report made , Your insurance company will pay his damage.... And you'll be ok.

Calm down there. There there...
you are not in trouble. No cops, no foul. No conviction (Paid tickets etc) no problem.
Insurance do not have power against your employ-ability.
SHUT UP if you are not asked about this little dent a brink.
In my day I used to laugh at parking tickets they held no value when your name and ### is not stamped on the thing. Whoops what is that paper in the muddy rain? Ugh litterers... terrible.. Tsk tsk tsk.bottomdumpin, Friday, rabbiporkchop and 2 others Thank this. -

Trying and doing are two things.
My heart's joy is in heavy equiptment, I discovered that too late in life, misspent. But.. trucking is something that gave me a chance to get out of a economic wasteland that Baltimore was becoming. Everything paved over from a working harbor with thousands of jobs to condo and tourism with 5 dollar soda.
You will cover the Nation looking and assessing employers. I can give you a small list, but Im cursed in one problem. Most of my employers are bought out, sold, closed, sent from business, bankrupt etc etc etc. I don't think anyone has a #### thing on me this far into my life.
If you are going to haul anything, take a look at companies that run McKesson. You have here a high dollar load that is extremely stable in routes to Memphis origin (Or other Origins) to distributions stay in truck, they reload with cardboard back to Memphis, repeat. Sometimes one million dollars plus in Narcotics only on 24 pallets. The little vials that the nurses stick a needle in to give ICU patients, burn patients and those crying in pain some mercy and peace. I spent a long time dealing with McKesson freight out of Memphis (And as Prey in a unmarked truck never again, Im licensed carry now...)
Those days are over, but besides the joy of heavy equiptment, flatbedding this reefer work with high value loads without touching was the gravy in the money. gravy gravy gravy. I don't recall what I made in pay but it's over a thousand and we just ignored the numbers, we did not care until tax day.
BTW. If you do to Memphis, do not stop and get out on US79 anywhere. Nor in west memphis.
Your alternates are.. Matthews AR north 55, Earle AR west 40, Jackson south 55 and Denmark 40 east tn, make sure you park on the overflow across from the ta there dont pull down into that lot behind the stop.
