Cargo and property damage paid by company driver

    They offered the driver a deal. The driver can take it or leave it. Most would leave it. A few will take it. The good drivers will have the freedom to decide. The bad drivers have no other choice.
    Moral of the story: Dont be a bad driver.

    No but I did buy a business with 15 trucks that had it and both my lawyer and the business advisor said these are illegal and will not hold up in court. My lawyer does good work on the labor end so I trust his word.

    Once I brought the trucks into my fleet, the drivers were given a choice, go through the process of working for me or leave, their choice was to work for me. Once they got into how it works here, they were much more happy and a lot more money in their pocket.

    And all of this comes down to quite simply, the employer can fire you, and make your life a living hell. Not very hard for them to ding your DAC report or in some other way make it hard for you to get another job. They can also simply fire you, and sue you for the damage.
