Cargo claim questions for those who have dealt with it.

    That's what the insurance is for.
    Technically, whether a damage is marked on the BOL or not, they can still receive the products, sign BOL without notes and still file a claim later. I heard a rumor that is up to 9 months but I guess it depends on various things. Filing a claim like that does not mean that it will be honored by the insurance. The easiest claim by the receiver is when a delivering driver signs the acknowledgment of the damage and the product is refused.

    Its exactly the same scenario,my load also was double tarped and I believe it got wet from removing the tarps and i made the same remark about shipping in a conestoga.
    My insurance agent demanded on my behalf to set up a time so i can go verify the damage in person,still waiting for a reply.
