Chevy Dude Hey i live in York SC. try TDI they are in Richburg SC they do financing and have job placement. They will even get a commitment letter before you go and multiple companies coma and talk during school. It is a little high priced but almost every company will pay you up to 6000 toward school reimburstment. I plan to go in August and start my new career. I have a CDL but not big trucks so have to go thru school. any questions feel free to ask!

Thanks MotoMack, I've put in a call to them.

Here's my thought process, such as it is.

I am desperate for a job and am not sure which way to go.

    A. Go the driver mill route.

    B. Hope to be able to afford a CDL school and hopefully start with a better company.

    C. Seriously considering UTI (auto mechanic school) in Charlotte. Can get a federal student loan as well as grants to pay for it. I am very mechanically inclined and have enjoyed working on cars ever since I could pick up a wrench. The school is an hour and a half away though, kinda far to commute.

    D. Continue to fight with all the other unemployed network admins out there for the few IT jobs available. Which I have been doing unsuccessfully for 18 months now.

My wife has been laid off from her job for a month now and is looking for work throughout the state. If we could afford a wall, our backs would be up against it.

I know you fine people don't know me from Adam, but was just looking for some feedback. Different points of view.

    Take care out there.

Chevy Dude Nice thing about TDI is that you can finance the school and they will even wait 70 days before the first payment to make sure you are at work by then. I talked to a MTC driver today he said they are particular but a good company if willing to work! I'm not sure I would be stuck workin for a company that I'm a slave for the next year. Go ahead and pay for the school and that will give you the choice of a better company. Almost every company have tuition reimburstment and a training program. Just have to look. go to classadriver.com I think it will show you by state which companies are hiring and ranks them and gives info about each. Good webwebsite and good luck!

JJ I would be happy to refer you over to where I am I love it. Great people great company they had a pay cut a year ago and those who were here for it are getting their pay restored from what I understand. Sucks they cut pay when the economy is on the up-turn.

Sigh, shot myself in the foot with that dang speaker problem. Should have read the owner's manual a little more carefully. Seems that on the T660's, low air buzzer will NOT sound unless engine is running and above 300rpm's. I really hate doing stupid stuff like that!!!!!

Well As Jess Said they cut my pay among other things so ill be looking for another company soon and probably have to start a new thread. Hopefully i can get on with this company that has this lease program we like if not ill start looking else where, i really want my own truck again, i guess the next thread ill start ill just call it JJ's Place and leave the company name out of the title. also i got a blackberry so i might not be here as much as i like but i do read the posts and ask jess to post on my behalf. She is the best, i dont know what i would do without her, ILOVE YOU SWEETIE. JJRanch.
