cargo insurance

    does the guy im leased to have to take cargo out on each person leased to him? i get 80% of gross and weekly plate deduction and carry my own trk ins.hes chargingme over 600 a monthfor cargo....dont seem right

    Yes he does. The $600/Mo is the liability insurance. I pay $1,100/mo for both of mine. This is what happens when you have an industry taken over by lawyers and insurance companies. Welcome to the cost of doing business.

    Some charge, some don't. It is not unheard of.
    Still, their cut is a little high, unless they provide a trailer.

    No he is responsible for the cargo insurance. It is the carrier's responsibility to provide it by regulation.

    So if he is charging you it, find another place to work.

    Why would anyone pay an insurance deduction that isn't in their Name? Because they want to make sure their insurance is paid for whether you're working or not. Should be included in the %
