Press Release: RICHMOND, VA (December 12, 2023)—CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation's largest retailer of used cars, announces the pilot of its first all-electric semi-truck that is being used as a vehicle hauler in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The truck can transport up to seven vehicles at one time and can travel an estimated 230 miles on a single charge, enabling it to efficiently service CarMax’s stores in the region. CarMax is testing the all-electric semi-truck in real-world conditions and its Stockton, California store will serve as the region's hub for fast-charging the vehicle with a Level 3 charging station.

Is it only me or does anyone else find it massively ironic that someone would use an electric vehicle to pull a trailer loaded with seven vehicles that are powered by gasoline or diesel, and an occasional EV? "...an estimated 230 miles on a single charge..." loosely translated to mean we really do not know how far we can drive do to traffic conditions, load weight, etc., etc.

I find this to be more of a publicity stunt more than anything else. I don't believe for a moment that Carmax gives one rats rip about how their vehicles are moved between their stores just so long as what needs to get moved gets moved. This is, in my opinion, nothing more that a "look how wonderful and great we are" in an effort to attract a certain customer base to their stores by touting the effort they make to have a positive affect on a climate that doesn't have a problem to begin with in the first place.

If Carmax or any of these other large companies want to do something positive how about they all start pointing fingers at our government for spraying that SH^T into our atmosphere day after day after day across the country. How about we just let the climate deal with itself as it and God have done since the beginning of time.

Wednesday morning rant complete. Have a nice day.

Ha. That wouldn’t make it to my turnaround point on a charge.

The new “truck” (I use that term loosely) that they gave me has a whopping 180hp and has a 80gal fuel tank. I see myself having to fill it twice a day to complete my 500 mile trip.
