To all the felons here that have been told no so many times. Not sure who you are applying to. But I am a felon. It's 12 years old and was a minor crime yet a felony. Tax evasion But I have had my pick of job offers recently just getting back into driving. Can only assume that what most of you were convicted of is either violent or something that would compromise the trucking company. In that case you can hardly blame them. Most of the companies that I applied to asked if the felony was more than 7 or 10 years old. Wish you all the best. I was nervous that I would hear the same no responses. But that just hasn't been the case.

I actually have family in Florida, and ideally I want to spend most of the next year OTR. I don't have any reason to be home. I'm single, young enough, looking to gain experience. I don't even need to make great money, although I would like it if I could. Long term I would like to find something to suit the lifestyle I love to live, which is roaming. I am a loner, I love life on the road, I have spent much of my 20s traveling. So again long term I would like to find a way to essentially live on the road, find a good company who will let me stop and camp out in instead of going home... get a national park pass and when I am resetting, or getting days off I can just find the closest park and pitch a tent.

In all do respect , a team operation may not be what a loner wants. Being trapped in the truck 24 / 7 for weeks on end with a stranger .

That might be hard to do with a truck. I think once you get out there and find you have a weekend off, you might want to just check into Motel 6 for a hot shower, watch TV and relax.

@mikeboone1 cargo will pre hire you over the phone but you have to pass orientaion first. you get 10cents a mile. however you DONT get bonuses for crap! you go to ca and back. You sit alot so your not making anything! if your truck breaks down good luck. they are in no hurry to help you. my husband sat for 5 days in the truck on the side of the rd in cali in 108 degree weather( none of the a/c units work) they finally got them a rm another 5 days but they do it is a cash advance on YOUR pay. then after finally getting a bus ticket from cali to nc took another 5 days. you do the math thats 15 days no pay! You will be out 4/5 plus wks dont count on getting home. on your home time they call you to come back in. If you think u get pd wkly..wrong. you have to wait to get back to the yard to turn in your trip pack. i think you should really look at a diff company. that place is a joke. had we have known about them before hand we would have never gone there. my husband got his exp and left. but if you have other options really consider them. good luck

This is funny cause I just hitchhiked there Friday, they put me up in that motel 6 and I'm now driving (in the sleeper for sleeper time of course) from rock hill to Vegas then Washington. I'm living proof that this company gives you that opportunity!

    How long how long
How many years have to pass after you beat a sickness before People stop treating you like your still sick?
Its those people with the problem. those companies that cant let go of their nuts for two seconds.
God for some reason has blessed me beyond any my wildest dreams since I came out of Prison.
And I do believe he keeps a list of people, companies and all the rest who have sat as Pharisees thinking they are so holy.
