I Use To Swing A Hammer For A Living, "construction" And I Developed Carpal Tunnel From It. I Hav'nt Been In That Line Of Work For 3 Years Now And My Carpal Tunnel Has'nt Bothered Me Since Then Either. But I Was Wondering If A Truck Drivers Duty's Could Aggetate It And Make It Worse. I Have Braces For It, So If It Did, I Would Start To Wear Them. They Helped Me Tremendously When I Would Start Feeling Pain And Numbness 3 Years Ago, But I Just Wanted To Know If Any Truckers Out There Has Had Any Problems With Carpal Tunnel Syndrome And If So, What Did You Do About It? I Understand That Holding A Steering Wheel All Day And Changing Gears Requires Alot Of Wrist Movement, And I Do All Sorts Of Things With My Wrist Now And It Does Not Bother Me, I Even Did My Soon To Be Father In Laws Roof By Myself With No Problems. So I Guess You Could Say That It's Not Severe. But It's Still A Possible Problem That I Would Like To Be Educated On.

Hubby deals with it on a regular basis. Yes gripping the steering wheel will probably agitate it. The only thing that I can tell you to help with it, is to make sure to stretch the ligaments after gripping the steering wheel for a while. It seems to help.

Alot of stretching motions with your hands and exercising the fingers brings alot of relief when gripping the steering wheel.

Rubbing and twisting your hands will help too.
