i had it in BOTH hands, but was unaware. but i'd really feel it come on strong, riding my motorcycle.
i had to have both hands done 2 weeks apart.
nothing will cure it, nothing will help but an out patient surgery.
the pre-op and post op times are more than the actual operation itself, you can be back to work in like 2 to 4 weeks.
the operation is, the doctor cuts you along the "curved line" in the palm of your hand, maybe all of about a 1 inch cut. then he slices thru the muscle (or whatever it is called).
seek out a doctor, you will be tested first.
piece of cake, easy-peasy.
where it says either mini open or open, is where the cut is made...
carpal tunnel?

Lol, "wrecked" my wrists at an early age. They do need exercise to "recover", they will never be the same either way.
I think it develops from any repetitive motion. If you can break the routine and move your wrists in another direction once in a while. Anything different, move them around in a circle when ever you can think of it, Let them rest in a brace if they start to give you problems, when you wake up in the middle of the night because they hurt so bad, it's past time to give them a rest.
I don't think you will ever recover. My fingers still get numb from holding a fork/pen/whatever for too long, and my handwriting is atrocious.
Not saying it's the better way as opposed to surgery, but I haven't seen anything that suggests surgery is a better option. We are screwed either way.dibstr Thanks this. -

i am lucky, my nerves were not that badly damaged, took me all of about 6 to maybe 8 months for a full recovery of the feelings in my fingers with out any nerve damage, and motorbike riding was a pleasure once again.skellr Thanks this. -
I don't think anyone really recovers from it.
I don't mean to doubt you. If I twist my wrist the wrong angle then BAM, it reminds me that it's still there. Something that happened 30 years ago. -
i was told by that surgeon before the operation, that there are a small minority of people from different nationalities that can redevelop it, or get bumps on the palms of thier hands.
my wife does have a friend from Portugal, lives here for many decades, and she has those bumps.
