About 35 yrs ago I had the best of both worlds. By day I delivered carpet and linoleum, and in the evenings I loaded trucks with mattresses. That's probably why my knees are the way they are today. I'd be embarrassed to tell you what I was getting paid as a driver back then, but It's where I got my license and even got some long haul experience. The mattress gig was actually a pretty good paying part time job. The drivers all had to tailgate their loads, so it is hard work.
About 15 yrs ago, when I was in between my flatbed jobs, I almost considered a carpet or mattress delivery job but then I remembered that I wasn't that young anymore...
