He called them the largest carrier in the world. -
When I think of auto manufacturers I rarely think of Chrysler.
Ford, G.M., Honda, BMW, Toyota comes to mind. They have all succeed in their mission plans without help from government.
Now maybe Swift isn't going for the bail-out but why the heck would anyone consider Swift the best example of a carrier because of their size? Look at their safety record for example

In our Co we travel sometimes over 200 just for on load and one way. So we have to log. It should be every company who hires cdl should log period..

The gist is if you base the trucking industry on Swift's safety and operation records, you might as well just base all of Basketball on RodmanLast edited: Jun 14, 2008

I don't have my DOT book in front of me at the moment.. but if memory serves, if you stay in-state, and return to your point of departure in the same day, you do not need to log. That's separate from the 100 mile rule, which, I think, covers intrastate work. -
It might be true, but our company requires us to log anyway, which to me I don't find a bother. Our dispatchers is always trying to get us to do loads that take more than 14hrs in a day, plus they try to get you back out on the road before you even are off 10hrs.. When that happens all I have to say is HOS and they get the picture..
-
Good on you. If the company uses the FMCSR for one aspect, they have to use it for ALL aspects. No picking and choosing. If you have to log, you have to abide by the HOS rules.

But anyway back to main subject.. Does anyone know the list of carriers that have gone under so far in the past year or so?
