Carriers saving money on the backs of drivers! What's a better way?

My point exactly. It seems to be the "in" attitude anymore to not give a rat's a z z....I didn't pay for it so what do I care? But stop and think about how much money is put out every year on maintenance, and then take a portion of that that could have been prevented. I'm sure it'd be a nice chunk of change that could be spent elsewhere, or at least used in place of the nickle that may be taken from me on down the road.
