Has anyone else noticed how having a short career in law enforcement seems to qualify some people as an expert in "the legality of firearms in our continental United States?"

Attention Drive by Posting:
Many law enforcement officers seem to think that they can interpret the law how they choose (and even dictate the law to make them seem more informed). The problem is (1) too many laws being added or revised rather than being enforced and (2) people who are firm in their belief they know everything about anything, rather than admitting to their ignorance of a certain topic. People please remember IGNORANCE is curable with the proper knowledge, but stupidity is a disease in which IGNORANCE is allowed to grow unchecked. IF you run into somebody who suffers from STUPIDITY rather than IGNORANCE please send them to the funny smelling room which has been recently cleaned for quarantine, and don't forget to seal the door and press the little red button on your way out. -
I just read your post and think exactly the same way. People that want to harm or kill someone will do this regardless if there is guns or even if guns were never invented.
I have read some of the latest posts and you are also right about the fear/loathing/hatred against guns.
I am so amazed that a person can make a decision in his or her mind, on a whim, from a dream, or just out of thin air, and to them, it becomes fact and law.
They can actually post as though they are convinced, with absolutely no proof or evidence, things they want others to believe are laws or facts.
This continued discussion concerning guns in a commercial vehicle is no exception.
It does not matter if there is absolutely no law to forbid or restrict guns in a commercial vehicle, someone will post, as fact, information stating it is illigal.
I challenge anyone, anywhere, to show proof of laws against generally carrying a gun in a commercial vehicle in the United States of America.
I know it CAN NOT be done. Heresay, assumptions, personal hate, personal thoughts, vindettas, ignorant statements, and guesses, do not count.
There seems to be a common misconception that having a firearm in a commercial(or any) vehicle somehow requires a CCW permit. This may be required in a some states(and maybe if a firearm is not visible)but in general a CCW(concealed carry weapon) permit pertains to the carrying of a firearm on ones person.
Some on here may live in a state where gun registration is required. Where it is the law that all must inform the powers to be who owns weapons and where they may be located. I do not at this time. In my state(La.) a vehicle is considered an extention of the home. It is also a state where an officer will try to search a vehicle in a heartbeat. A traffic stop, with or without cause, more often than not, may result in an officer stating, "You don't mind if I search your vehicle do you?."
droy Thanks this. -
Cause I find it hilarious as I do listening to the CB radio.
