I am getting EEC 061 SPN 3242 Code with DPF Inlet Temp 20. Does this mean the inlet temp sensor is bad and will replacing the sensor clear the code or does it need to be hooked up to the computer?? Also If I just ignore this code, will it still regen?
Clean doser hole once a year, clean 1box pressure sensor tubes at 300k, doser injector replace at 500k, DOC inlet pressure sensor replace at 600k. Those mileage intervals sound really big, is that the points at which they usually fail? I'm going to crack 300k miles this year and thinking about swapping out all the pressure/temp sensors at once just because, maybe not the 7th injector just yet. I feel like if I do anything that's unnecessary (too early) I'll spook the truck spirit and it will start throwing errors on me. So far it's been happy as can be with fresh fluids and lots of loving whispers of appreciation. I've had the coolant temp sensor die like 4 times, but I bet the 1 box temp sensors are s l i g h t l y more robust to handle the heat of a small star
You also need the failure mode. It will look like SPN 3242 FMI #. SPN 3242: FMI 2 DOC Inlet Temperature Sensor Plausibility Error FMI 3 DOC Inlet Temperature Circuit Failed High FMI 4 DOC Inlet Temperature Circuit Failed Low FMI 8 DOC Inlet Temperature Signal Spike FMI 10 DOC Inlet Temperature Sensor Stuck My first suspicion would be a bad harness, but it could be a bad sensor.
It doesn't give any FMI# I have attached a photo of the code. The MIL and CEL lights came on but after driving it a little the CEL light went out and but the MIL light is still on
Get a ScanGuage if you don't want to buy the DDDL software or go to a shop. The MIL will go out after a while - usually four or five start/drive cycles. Regens should work as long as the CEL stays out out. If this happened once it'll happen again.
