Hello! I’ve just purchased Freightliner Cascadia Evolution 2016 year (dd15) and have a question:
I have only 9-9.9k lbs on my steering axle with 44k lbs load, my 5th wheel moved all way to the front and it’s still 9.9 lbs on steering axle. Why? Something wrong? Plz help, I’m have little experience with that, worked as a company driver for 2 years.

And I tried to adjust my tandems to make axle weights legal, but I can’t, still have 34 on drivings, and 35 on trailer tandems, I guess loaders overweighted my tail.

I assume its not a daycab and we have the same truck. Mine is 11.4k on the steers empty. Unless you are not releasing the brakes when you are on the scale i dont know how those weights are possible.
fargonaz Thanks this. -
Ps. I release brakes on scale. -
If you just bought, one of the first things you should have done was get an empty weight scale for your new truck. Now you don't know if it's your truck or the load.

The question is - is it a problem? 9k is ok, or it’s not?
-
maybe 5th wheel was installed too far from cab and needs to be moved closer?

Your tail is not overweight bcz u already have 34 in front . When is overweight the tail the front is low. Did u go to the scale to check ur total weight? Maybe u are 44000+ and more than 80.000 total
