Anyone experience the windshield wiper swipe during the initial turning of the key to start the truck?
I find this unnecessary and find it doing damage to the glass. Sometimes my windshield is covered in bugs/dirt and running dry wiper blades over the glass only rubs the dirt/bugs along the glass smearing and scratching.
Anyway to de-activate what seems to be a pointless feature?

I'm not sure, but some european trucks are with automatic wiper actuation (rain sensor) and sometimes they actuate wipers when you turn ign on if windshield is dusty. I sugest Cascadia shares wiper strategy with Actros MP3...
I had some rain sensor issues with dust on sensor.123456 Thanks this. -

I realize this is an OLD post, but I just purchased a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia, and it is doing this exact thing. Any resolution?

Could be a sign of water intrusion into the Sam Cab module at base of passenger windshield behind glove box. Water an leak and corrode the wires or connector pins.

Check with Freightliner. Probably a setting that can be deactivated.
