When I open my door, my lights come on. When i shut the door the lights go out, perfect! Now... when i tap any of the 6 lights including the 2 that were just on. Nothing. It cant be fuse, as the light wouldn't come on when door is opened. Wtf can it be ? Lights all work, I pulled em from the sleeper lights after ensuring they all worked. They worked fine 2 hours ago as i clicked em on to look for something and clicked em off.
Cascadia Map Lights will not turn on manually, door must be open.

None of them work? Only the center on each side is supposed to be the dome light. The outer ones, one is red (2 on the passenger side in the one I have now) the other is white but it's lower wattage than the center bulb.
I can't tell you why, those lights are all push to turn on and push again to shut off. It might be you have a defective low voltage cutout that won't let those lights come on. -
Mine did the same thing but worked later. I think the have some delay. I have closed the door and it stayed on then went out. Screwy system. Overall not a bad truck though. First time I have driven a late model FL.

Well how do I fix the low voltage cutout ? Yes that's the lights I'm talking. Only the center comes on.
-
And only when I open the door. I cannot get it to come back on after. I'm idling. So batteries are fine. I dont understand and its driving me nuts.

Sam cab, computer controlled pretty much everything except the air horn and the radio (s).
If you leave the door open too long, the lights will be shut off, same with the lights in the sleeper if it's working right. Wait until it decides the city horn needs to be deployed, it can get funny if you are in a bad neighborhood or in close proximity to others who are asleep.
A tech at a dealership should be able to fix it. Or even someone who understands it by having had it happen to them. -
My lights in the back work just fine. I just dont understand how both sides died, I mean there are power to the sockets, or they wouldn't come on when I open the door. It's so weird. I dont understand. I thought for sure it was fuse, because that made sense. It took 3 or 4 door openings to get them to come on. Still cant turn them on by hitting the lights. And I dont think I would of killed 6 switches simultaneously. Wth!?! Frustrating. We can send people to the moon, but we cant wire up a truck to see in the dark...

NASA sent people to the moon.... Freightliner wired their trucks in. There had to be a guy who designed these trucks somewhere who's body was literally lop-sided because every freightliner I have drove always has an issue, whether it be shaking, lights, heater fans, doors... something always tears up... and then you gotta have a $500 tool and a sky-lift just to figure it out...D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Lol NASA needs to work with these truck manufacturers. Especially when they decide to make our trucks not have emissions anymore. They need "advisors"D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
