    If you adjust your whip A quarter inch and it makes a drastic difference then it's probably a pretty high Q antenna and if you adjust your whip half inch and it doesn't make very much difference the Q is probably very low but it's very wide banded

    Once I lengthened the shaft of my current antenna from 32 to 40", the whip tuning effect increased.

    The 7 foot Skipshooter I have is like that, with its tuning nail. Moving the nail even a little bit makes a drastic difference. That antenna is supposedly rated 96% efficient, I'd like to run it, but it's even flimsier than the Firestik, so I'll have to work out a support solution before I do. In the meantime I'm going to go ahead and extend the shaft on this thing another 15"...

    Im going to keep using the 5 ft firestick I put on a week ago it seems to be working pretty good.
