I haven't tried mobile deposit with a money order. Should work, it's a bank check.

I never leave home without at least $500 cash in my pocket, and a couple credit cards.

Years ago I would take cash advances while on the road (company allowed $200 per week) I'd put it all in a coffee can. I called it money SHE DON'T KNOW ABOUT. Adds up, and saved my bacon more than once when she got mad and emptied the bank account.

If you're living off cash advances you're either new to the industry and "paying your dues" which is BS, you're spending to much while on the road, or you're with the wrong carrier. Could be a combination of all.

Anyone that says Cash isn't KING, doesn't have any cash.

As many have said credit card, and pay it off every month. You dont need cash out there anymore. Between CC and rewards points for fueling, the only thing you might need cash for is a lot lizard, but they might even take CCs now, I couldnt say... (or wont)

Several sayings like : "Money talks and B S walks" and "Cash is the universal language" and "OK, show me the money" all have stood me in good stead low these many years. It is the universal communicator, whether asking for help quickly, or offering a "little something" for looking the other way, or "shifting the loading sequence" or "Go ahead and give him that and I just take the next one."
These remarks are based on my experience years ago. With as many news articles on political and investment frauds running into millions now, I would think a few hundred dollar bills would be an excellent intro in to profitable accomplishments in the present economy. As they say in fishing and sex, "It's not how you wiggle the worm, it is how you dangle the bait." There is a degree of larceny in the heart of everyone you meet.

I don't know of any place you can rent a car with cash, I don't even know if you can do it with a debit card.

No, the main chains will not take cash, nor will many other business operations. But, the "Rent a Wreck" local independents probably could be persuaded.
Like fishing, you need to know: or have an idea of the location of, "productive" waters. Not many years ago, I rented a room in a nice motel in Monroe LA at 1 AM. Just told the guy I was tired and sleepy, needed to sleep, no shower, towels , he could just shake the sheets, and I be gone at 6 if he would arouse me..
I was coming back to Tupelo from Round Rock, TX, been up for 19 hours in rainy stormy weather in a little light ISUZU pickup. Narrow seat to sleep on.
two twenties and he handed me a card, and said Do not smoke".
Add on; Late at night, he has vacancy and no one else coming. I look neat and clean and sober. He is the night man, alone, low pay, and all jell for make a deal.

Just out of curiosity I tried it at Sacramento. It was a disaster. The clerk got all flustered, security showed up, I had to answer a bunch of questions, and I still didn't get my car.

I dont know, when i had and earned far less i agreed more with you.

This was also a time when the bank balance NEVER exceeded 200$ for longer than 3 days, in THOSE times yes i prefered cash because i could never get hit with bank fees, but you cant run a serious buisness that way either.

Lets put it this way, if i have to run on cash, i CAN. But if YOU had to run through cards, could you?

Also, on the government control/overreach aspect, youve never heard of civil asset forfeiture? Thats a mark against cash until there are a lot more citizens winning their cases than they are currently
