Yes, I’m sure it was a hostile takeover by the big bad corporation. I like all the hate directed toward the corporations every time this happens when in reality the old owners were well aware of the state of their current property and saw a way out of their situation.

 

I met the owner about 5 or 6 years ago. He was a nice fella. Probably 80+ at the time, but really nice.
If I were to guess, I'd say either he passed on and his family decided to unload the place, or he's about to and doesn't want them to have the burden.
It's a good place. I stayed there many times (mostly because they had a bar and because it was a handy place to jump from in the morning).
Pilot made a good buy. If they get rid of all the Idle Air crap and re-do the lot a bit, they'll have something. Love's is on the other side of the interstate and there's several other places to park nearby. But if Pilot does it right, it will be a good place to park.
