a bully company is any company / organization that's unfair in charging for service & doing it on their terms, which i never heard until i learned about unions. maybe in the truck field it's different, but i've learned to learn about any company before committing. if Cassens, JCT, or any unionized company doesn't have to participate in unionized events, then i'll rectify my posts. however, i'd have to find out why are they associated with a union & how is it that they get payed so much, etc. even Walmart warns workers to stay away from the union because they can be damaging to the company. knowing that & being told never to join a union seems to be the wise thing to do, but again, if it's different for truck drivers, maybe there are different unions that are ok

the main thing i'd ask about is mandatory activities / meetings. u can research that about unions to learn more, but i couldn't be negative towards a customer or worker because of any power i'd hold. i wouldn't want anyone doing it to me. neither am i nor anyone else a door mat. i wonder though how is that i see a lot of folks have been truck drivers for so long that they've never advanced to a higher / better position..

If your speaking of management a lot of those higher better positions usually involve a deal with the devil and most guys revert back to driving that held them.

Never been in a union but you got them all figured out from what you've "heard". Typical.

Just FYI I've been a union driver for years and never had to go to a mandatory meeting, never been told how to vote or what to say. Never been directed to talk badly about others or treat non-Union drivers with disrespect.

There's a whole bigger reason companies like Wal-mart bad mouth unions.

There plenty of non-Union carriers out there paying there drivers good and treating them fairly and there's some that don't. But I can tell you this Union car haul sets the price point for everyone good or bad. Do you think for even a second companies like USAL would pay there drivers competively if it wasn't for companies like Cassens and Cooper.

Well, so far so good. Now i just gotta wait for the Yay, nay, or go to hell.

Ive talked to a lot of people about this company and the majority of the info is positive.

Although ive never worked union (but i am ex-military) my father is a 30+ yr GM retired (hes the one that set this up) so im not really worried about it

Just hang in there. Jason's not always real quick about getting back with new hires.

How many "interviews" have you had?

Wasn't much of an interview was it? Least not in my case. He basically just tells you what we are about.

Good part is tho that just getting an interview is a good sign. They knew everything they needed to know about your past before you even showed up. Just as long as you were honest you should hear from him soon.

You might actually discover this whole thing called having a life. Something that's often rare in the trucking world
