I picked up a 1MM out of a 2000 western star am told it dropped a valve my ? is should I keep it and build it or sell and find a 6NZ what I was origanaly looking for its going into a 1986 ex hood 359 also I was told that only difference from a 7cz and a 1mm is the newer block could a guy just get a 6nz block that is lighter and better for leaks and swap the internals thanks

If it dropped a valve fix it. Yes you can swap rotating assemblies but you have to use it all. No mismatching parts. Since it's out have the crank checked. I would put a rod in that hole for sure. We out of framed ours 4 years ago and 350k still no leaks.

The 1MM is basically a 70 pin E model with a bigger rotating assembly. 2WS would be a more fair comparison

    Oxbow Thanks this.

I have a 1mm in mine. With a Acert crank and industrial liner packs. The 1mm block is 300 lbs heavier than a 7zc or 6nz. It is a stronger block than the 7cz or 6nz. Dont be afraid of it. Very strong engine, fix it and ride.

Just don't dump a bunch of fuel to it. Really don't need to on a 15.8.

What else you got done to it. I got an Acert rotating assembly (with low comp pistons) goin in a 6nz block. Tryin to decide what to do with the rest of it to finish it off....

I had some custom work done to the head for the fire rings. 58 injectors, a big wind mill borg warner and some stuff we are not allowed to say on here.

    Oxbow and SAR Thank this.

Did you native any power difference loosing the 5.5 inch pistons going to the 5.4 with the acerts? Doesn't seen like it would be noticeable
