I have bought a 99 w900 with a cat 3406e 15.8l. The motor has jus had an out if frame done to it. The guy I bought it from put a 700hp turbo without a wastegate on it and says it will produce 50-55psi of boost. I was wondering if that is to much?

Are you a Prime driver? Just curious why you posted on Primes board?

Hopefully Haney or Wore Out will chime in here, they know a bunch more about this than I do. A '99 e-model C16 only has 16:1 compression I think(maybe it's 17:1), I don't think 50-55 will hurt it, although I wouldn't run it that hard all the time. My bone stock 475 Acert has 18:1 compression and makes 50-55 psi all day long, 1,090,000 miles so far no problems. I'm guessing it takes a while to get to 50 psi, he said it was a NON-wastegated turbo, so the longer his foot is on the floor the higher the boost is gonna get, but again just guessing here probably kind of laggy down low without other mods. There really isn't any such thing as a "700hp turbo" the factory "600" turbo will support 700 hp IF everything else is in order. An OR-6051 is a factory B-model(mechanical 425 hp) non-waste-gated turbo that will support up to 750 hp IF everything else is in order.

    Danfromwindsor Thanks this.

mine is a '05 BXS and when I say all day long, I mean just the days its not leaking somewhere,(which ain't very often here lately) LOL actually it does 40-45psi @ 16-1700 rpm in the hottest of summer days it has to be below 55* to get over 50psi @ 16-1700 rpm
