Pretty much just swap everything over that doesn't match.

As for the transmission, I dunno if Freightliner and/or Pete uses a leaf spring at the rear of the transmission. Might need to install the parts for that if needed. Also have to change the driveshaft length.

Dumb question: will a blown head gasket cause severe blow by?

Not a dumb question. Sure it can but you gonna have coolant puking out of resivoir too most likely and probably white smoke coming out of pipes if it’s causing severe blowby

Had white smoke this AM. Not really wanting to do a full rebuild on this thing. Only need itbto last me 6 more months. The giy with the freightliner flaked out on me.

Hell I have a buddy that’s been running his cat for the past year that smokes like an old locomotive out the blow by and also loses half a quart of oil a day out of it. He’s like “I’ll put a new motor in it when it blows up” hahah
Keep running it. I’m sure you’ll be fine. She’s tired though

Looks like a rebuild is going to be the most economical solution. Anyone know where i can rent or buy (decently priced) cylinder liner puller?

Got bbn it down to where i need to take the head bolts out. Found one already broken off and the head of the bolt was just laying there. Guess ill3have to make a trip to harbor freight to get a heavirr duty breaker bar.
