    Hi
    Is CAT C12 a good engine for highway miles OTR?

    Has anyone have experience using this motor ?
    I'm thinking of buying a truck with C12 engine. 430 HP 1650 torque , 13 speed. 3.58 ratio

    Really good engine. I've had two. Trouble free, good mileage (I averaged 7.5+ in a dump truck) and decent power for an 11.9 liter. Might want a bigger engine if you're in the mountains at 80K a lot but it will do the job. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

    What I've done is swapped turbo for 171702 bw and custom 550/1850. Now once it passes 1500rpm its a rocket ship. Very very similar to my 6nz with 550bs file. Probably a little too much but a custom 500 file will be more reasonable
