I can't find anything in the search about checking/changing the breather on a 2006 C13. Im assuming it started blowing the filler cap off because the breather is plugged or broken. I have very little (if any) blow-by coming from the tube under the engine, but a small amount coming from the filler neck. I replaced the cap with a brand new one and it blew off within a few miles. No water/oil contamination in the radiator or oil pan, no smoke from the stacks. My thought is maybe the PCV, I read that there is a tin plate riveted inside the box that the tube drops out of (driver side front of the engine), if this plate is detached, the blow-by gets trapped.
Any ideas, am I on the right path or could it be something else?

Blow by tub is probably clogged and under boost it blows cap off

Ooops... Habit I guess, it's a C13.

I ordered a new fill tube and cap for a C15 this week. The new one was smaller than the old one. I remember something in the past about tapping the fill tubes as well.

My C13 blew the filler cap off yesterday and I lost 5 gallons of oil before realizing it. Luckily I stopped for a bathroom brake and saw oil all over my left battery box and dripping off the fenders.
Oxbow Thanks this.
