All dpf only engines are crap and the cats are the worst of the lot . Save your money and get an 010 spec engine. Or keep what you have now. You will be much better off.

But some say I whine to much ........ LOL

Do not buy that motor. I have a c15 cat with DPF and it has a heck of a lot of headaches. My mileage when I bought it was 4.0 mpg and NO POWER. I had a full rebuild right under warranty at 499,000 mi all under cat warranty, they had to put a new CAC, new DPF, totally rebuild the engine. I only had to pay for new cylinder packs. I am now up to 5.8 mpg steady on winter Canadian fuel (only doing short runs for now), I have added fuel temp wire, MB wheel bearings in 5 axles, and a trailer skirt, pulling reefer. I consider myself very lucky with this engine. For now, the aftermarket DPF cat put on isn't giving me lots of grief like the old one did. However, when I run it hard in mountains or above 1500 rpm for maybe an hour, in the 75 mph limit states, the DPF throws check engine code which I now know means I have to park it and do manual regen. Keep it at 65 (1400 rpm, I have 3.55 on 24" lo-pro, 18 with .73 final) and it works fine. I would NOT buy another dpf-only motor. If I had to buy another truck today and it had to be compliant for cali, it would be something with the 2012+ detroit that takes def. I should also add that I would not buy any motor with the VGT either. Apparently they last about 1 year then break. Plus, all the new maxxforce, and paccar motors, I don't have faith in them either. Volvo or mack just aren't in my vocabulary.

If you won't buy any engine with a VGTurbocharger than you won't be buying any truck. Detroit, Cummins, Volvo, the whole lot of them, have a VGT on them now

The DPF Cat engines can be made to run with a DPF Delete

Get the Detroit. The 07-10 EGR only Series 60's were far superior in fuel mileage and reliability than the 2006 and older EGR models.

Didn't know all of them had the VGT. I thought the Detroit's didn't have them, my mistake.

The only thing holding me back from totally deleting my DPF system is my plan to run some cali in a few months while the produce is rolling. If I find I will be doing better running other areas of the country it will be off of there.

Well for starters the black tips of your exhaust will give them reason to take a closer look. I have heard but never confirmed that sometimes they have a camera they put down the exhaust to look for the core inside the dpf. Also they do the snap testing to look for black smoke. The thing is if you get caught what do you do when they tell you you are going directly to the repair shop and it will be several thousand to "fix" it, or else you are impounded? I've thought about having it deleted and drilling down to leave 1/2" so it all looks cool, but not sure if that will eventually have the same problems, clogging the exhaust shut pretty much. Oh yea, and some states are plugging into ECM's now. Not sure what exactly they are looking for there.
