Cat c15 acert bxs to 3406e

    I have a question can I replace a c15 acert bxs and replace it with a 3406e???

    Unless it’s blown up I’d tune and delete the BXS before I went changing it.

    We have both a BXS and 3406E trucks. I drove both.

    I drive the BXS. Nothing wrong with these engines. The 3406E is not much different other than no IVA and only a single turbo.

    Locked up I want to know if its a actual plug and play if I dont have to mess with the ecm harness

    Is it plug and play or u have to mess with the ecm harness to make it work?

    Harness issue. You would have a 70 pin truck with a 40 pin engine in it. The harnesses are around for that swap though.

    The 2WS is a 70 pin and still labeled 3406E. The 5DS 15.8 liter was also labeled 3406E. My point is yes a 3406E is most likely a 40 pin and will require simple modification but without a serial number who really knows. They are not all the same as people think
