Hey everyone,
I had posted a thread pertaining to wiring in the starter on a reman MXS C15 our shop bought. Turns out I had the ground for the ECM connected to the positive on the starter.
What I'd like to know is if I caused irreparable damage to the ECM. At first, we couldn't get the truck started, but we have been able to get it started, now. I can scan the truck and the ECM shows up, just it has two active engine codes now, the more concerning is:
PID:253 FMI:2 - Calibration memory. Incorrect or Intermittent data
As I said, I can get the truck started. It was running a little rough, so I did a cylinder cutout test: 1 & 2 are not firing but 3-6 are. It is strange as well; I ran a injector buzz test, and none of the injectors passed.
I understand that injectors 1 & 2 share a common from the ECM. As far as I can test, they both show continuity up to the ECM. I was thinking that we needed to take it to a Cat dealer to have them calibrate and make sure the parameters are okay.
Does any of this sound strange to anyone? I'm glad I was able to get any reading from the ECM, to me that's a little bit of a good sign.
Thanks again, y'all.
