Cat C15 MXS 475/1850 Safe to uprate to 550HP?

    I have an 06 KW T600 With an MXS C15 rated at 475hp 1850 torque. Is it safe to uprate this engine to 550hp with just an ECM flash? Thanks.

    I had the diesel doctor in Effingham Illinois do it. He said it was a stock cat 550 tune. I just wanna be sure I didn't make a mistake having it done.

    Any tuner worth his salt won't program you to dangerous level's, at least not without telling you.

    And I think the need for a transmission cooler is absolutely situational dependant

    I dont know if it has a tranny cooler or not. However, the engine was already rated at 1850 torque and I'm not changing that. I also don't pull over 80k gross so I don't think that's gonna be something to worry about .
