Time to kill and I can't seem to find the answer : I've got an intermittent "Check Engine" light. The Cat code says "290-7". Anybody know what it means?![]()

Looks like 290-7 is #6 Intake Valve actuator not responding... -
Thanks Strider. Any idea what that means, why it's intermittent and how serious it is? Also, I'm not sure it's an ACERT engine. It's a 2006 C15.
-
It's deff an ACERT and it could be caused by the sensor on-top of the head, pass side, near the front. I don't know what it is called, but mine kept throwing that code as well and changed that sensor and it went away.
-
Thanks. I'll check it out. Hopefully not an arm and a leg!

its a solenoid on the valvetrain inside the valve cover on cylinder 6 ferthest back sensor these things go bad all the time just changed all mine out a month ago with the new revised american made ones and the jakes actually seem a lot stronger now too
SHC Thanks this.
