Is there a way to reprogram the older Cat ID dash displays? Mine will only display boost to 31.8# even though the analog gauge is reading higher. I didn't know if it could be reset in the unit itself or if it had to be taken to the shop and hooked to a laptop. Any information would be appreciated.

You cann't do anything about that. Mine is doing same thing so there is always some difference in reading between the manual gauge and the Cat ID. The Cat ID only reads from the ECM and displays the information the ECM receives.

CAT ID in the earlier trucks will only read 31.8 psi and there isn't a way to change it. The ECM will read actual boost pressure, but won't send that information to the CAT ID. In an Acert truck CAT ID/Messenger reads much higher than 31.8 psi.
Nevs Thanks this. -

I have done a little experimenting and on 40 pin trucks, 5ek,6ts,1lw......even the ecm only sees 32 lbs....so I think its 40 pins that stop at 31.8....I'll check the next 70 pin when I have one in my shop.
