Cat lost at IA rest area

    Might be a good idea to phone the local humane and animal rescue societies too, and any vets or animal charities in the area. The more people that hear you've lost a friend the more eyes will be looking. Dont suppose they'd pick it up but I'd be bothering the local radio station too. Good luck.

    That's a situation I would not wish on anybody. Must have been awful and terribly difficult to start that truck to get the load delivered, and having to leave the area where you know your companion is nearby. So close, yet so far.

    You may have already went here but has a few contact numbers. Make sure you cite the rest area by name. Maybe the workers already spotted it. Worth a shot.

    As its been suggested earlier use social media. Find some polk county humane society lost and found. Forgot the neighboring county but check that one as well.

    I think this a good idea. You could even offer a reward and send a picture.

    I doubt the cat went very far. Tame cats that get lost generally just hide somewhere close and shut down. They may hide in bushes and even trees and not make a sound.
