Trying to remove a starter from a C-15 cat. I have all the wires off but can't find the rest of the bolts holding the starter on. HELP

it should have 3 bolts holding it on.
one at the bottom, one on the side,& one on top that will be a real pita to get to.

the best way i have found to remove a starter is to torch the bolt heads off. yea , i know what you are thinking, but i have had some on so tight that a 3/4 air wrench would not budge them. carefully torch the head, the starter comes out and you will be able to turn the remnants of the bolts with you fingers. johnny

and when you put the new one in--clean the bolts and a skiff of never sieze
not sure about cat engines--but on detroits you can clock the starter/solenoid one more turn --makes it easier to get bolts in and out again
