this ought to be fun. o/o's will have to install plates to cover them from thefts of those now too. and trucking companies will have to weld plates all around them to stave off thefts as well.....i seen a BOOM in the welding trades.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -
Emission requirements are based off of the HP rating, not the fuel type the engine burns. The allowable emission amounts in PPM are different as you cross different HP ranges.
Tier 4 engines under a certain HP rating can meet the emission targets by simply using a catalytic converter. Lots of those little light towers you see run a little 3 or 4 banger Kubota with a catalytic converter.
Move up to a big diesel like Cat uses in their 797F haul truck. SCR catalyst and a Diesel Oxidation catalyst. No DPF. Doesn't need it since the engine emits a low enough amount of particulates to not need it.
