Catalytic converter shield leaves Las Vegas fears of theft

    One homeless man here had 20 stacked on a stolen shopping cart. Police checked him out, but couldn't do anything about it, so they let him go.
    The homeless guy told the police, "You can't prove I stole any of this stuff."

    And when the cops are called they just don’t want to bother…and I can think of reasons why but still feel it’s their job

    And yet with no proof, the cops steal $40,000 from a guy going to buy a truck, saying it is drug money.

    Out of 1,818 people, one of them per year will get their catalytic converter stolen. I'll roll the dice on those chances all day long before I drop $900.00 on a shield that doesn't even prevent them from stealing it anyway.

    Insurance covers cat theft. If these types of shields did anything meaningful, insurance would be giving people a discount to have them installed. It's a solution looking for a problem, that doesn't solve anything in practice. Kinda like the vaccine.
