it's not hard to beat a ticket. really don't need a lawyer anymore.

    google is free.

i once got a ticket for not having my load covered (dump truck). law states exempt on the highway when going from one parcel of land to another. across the highway. we we're only using 1/2 mile of the highway. job is on one side. dump site is on the other side.

also got a ticket for failure to look. backed out of a parking lot to which 2 vans were on my right. car pulls up right behind me as i was backing out. i could't see him becuase of the vans. but he could see me. can't get a ticket on private property.

I have tried and tried and tried some more. I quit my last employer just so I could stay home and concentrate on just this thing. Now I am broke and having to go back OTR with a company that does not pay what I feel I am worth, but from my analysis the good outweighs the bad in my situation. But, these "good" companies are a real pain in the ### to find, especially in FL, tough I am only 17 miles from I10.

apply for a good job with a company that is not in the american trucking association.
i was on time off from my training company when i walked into my job i have been at for 16 years. i did a road test and they said "when can you start?"
they told me to take my otr truck back but dont give two weeks and go back east for two months!
there is alot better jobs here than i have but i have too much seniority to quit now

Every time I've given a "two week" notice, one employer have said its not worth your and our time for you to be employed here and showed me the door fearing I'd give them a bad name, another accepted it, and one cut my hours to one day a week. Under FL law, they can fire you without reason and cause. Yes its good for business and for a reference. Just my .02.

Agreed! What really frightens me is when are they going to start flooding the Trucks with Immigrants straight from the border. Local Jobs in SLC want 2 years experience minimum to make $12-14 and hour with no ot.

I have never had a problem giving a two week notice. I have always had a good reputation with whaever company I was with. That being said, I didn't always give a two week notice, when I did leave a company. It has never haunted me. If some place is treating me like crap and not treating me with respect, then why should I bother?

if it's 12 - 14 an hour back home in salt lake now. then it's gone up. cuz it was 10 when i hit the road. it was 13 when i first got my license.

i was making 20 when the economy hit. my hours went from 60 to 30.
