6nz are usually from late 2000 to mid/late 03. My 2000 was built in Feb and had a 2ws which technically was a 3406e. There's guys on here that know exactly but that will point you in the right direction.

    I've got a 2WS also.

It's also about timing and momentum when driving, I see drivers race to a stop light to sit, I see it's red slow down to keep rolling and try to time the green so I keep moving and usually roll right past the ones who raced up and are not sitting.

    gpsman Thanks this.

Should be able to find a serial number somewhere on the block to let you know what you've got. My 6nz has a tag on the valve cover near the front of the block.. Dipstick and oil fill hole are on pass side.

^^we have a 550 acert with this stuff done to it. The boost gauge only goes to 50 in that truck and it's usually sitting at 50 on a hard pull and let me tell ya it gets there in a hurry!!

6nz's are usually in mid 2000 model year trucks to late 02' Then they had some 9nz that were basically exactly the same as s 6nz just with tighter emission programing, they are pretty doggy to drive and not great on fuel! Mid 03 the bridge (MBN) showed up and at first they had major issues and alot of them were only 525's and smaller! they came up with some new improved programing pretty quick and most of them ive been around pull like raped ape! the biggest difference in the bridge and 6nz is compression ratio and the tri pulse injector pulse which uses a smaller finer tipped injector than the 6nz and pulses it 3 small pulses insteada once..it helped to more precisley control the timing for optimum power and low emissions both..they most all have a 550 1850 torque program in them now!

I know this thread is more a tech thread, but I see this too. Drivers that race from a stop, weave in and out of traffic, tailgate, all like they are in some kind of sportscar. Its harder on the engine and trans when they race it like that and burns more fuel.

Battle Born, gpsman and SHO-TYME Thank this.

    2 things
1st this one is marked as a 475hp so is it gonna be programmed at the 550 now. ( E model cat man )

2nd What fuel milage can a mbn engine get realistically. I read somewhere that removing the muffler on a mbn is gonna gain .4mpg

Mine: Was 475 HP, now 500 hp
MPG: 5.7 mpg with that stock muffler.
I would need to put 6nz file and the 6nz camshaft.
