"A veterinarian was called, and six more cows were put down due to their injuries."

A veterinarian? Call all the butchers in the area and haul these cows into cold storage ASAP!

Too bad this wreck didn't occur in Texas.

And what is with these cow haulers wrecking more and more often? Up until several years ago, these wrecks were unheard of. At least I haven't heard of any wrecks involving bull racks. Same could be said about heavy haul.

    What is going on?

Old hands are retiring and the new folks will work cheaper but it’s not possible to to train people the way it was done 20 years ago. Labor laws won’t allow it and with all the nanny devices if you weren’t trained running outlaw you likely don’t know your limits or what to do when you need to get past them.

As for the not hearing about the bull rack wrecks, they happened from time to time. But unless you knew them or were running the same roads you wouldn’t normally hear about it or so it seemed when I was a bovine relocater.

Were you ever a meadow maggot mover? I've heard sheep stink the most.

As far as heavy haul is concerned, I know people won’t like my answer but I found it too easy to get started in. I’m not doing the big stuff like triple six (I know there’s others on here but his stories stuck with me) but a first year class 1 usually shouldn’t have been 12’+ wide or 180k lbs. Even if it meant I would have had to earn my place a little longer, I think I would have benefited from proper training on the way up. And if all else fails it might make for higher rates if it was harder to get into.

Nice goin', putz. Such a shame those cows were killed before they got to the slaughter house. And are cows in that much demand, transporting them from Maine to Ohio? Seems like a long way just for some stupid cows. 2 story bull racks are more unstable than tankers, as this driver found out. 3:30 am, police are baffled,,:biggrin_25518:,,

Every where you look on social media some body is looking to get in a cow truck. Be some big boo hauler. Cause it looks bad ### and chics dig it. No experience always wanted to learn etc. Well some one else tells where to look them with all of 3 months experience what to expect. It’s way easier to get in than it once was. Lots of cut throat hire anybody companies now too.

Just an opinion but you take a driver out of a truck that all he knows is sliding tandems, and drive in deep and hope it sticks odds of them misjudging their speed and flopping one is pretty good. You take a kid that don’t know #### has never seen a truck stand up in a curve snd he’s gonna be a little more skiddish. He is scared to mash it anyway. Naturally there are exceptions.
