Im tryiing to get into trucking ,i have a bad mvr from florida when i moved here i caught a lot of red light tickets and toll tickets for not paying . I also have a reckless driving , driving with a suspended lic, open bottle in my car. I think i have a felony for carrying a little more weed than the legal limit. Do you think any cdl training mega carrier will accept me with my record? If they dont i was thinking that maybe Ill just get my own authority and buy a new truck or used truck. I'm not a mechanic but im mechanically inclined i have a good concept how engines work. i was able to change the timing belt on a old honda pilot with youtube help. Im single 42, no kids no fam. Im trying to work for a good 7 years and retire to venezuela. I have excellent credit score and like a 70k credit card line and 50k cash money.

I have some numbers i want to share :
60k insurance 5k (I came with this number due to my horrible record)
120k new truck 4k notes or used 30k and spend 30k more to bring it up to par 60k used
    500 maintenance
    =9500 monthly expenses
    11000 miles? is this possible or legal? $9500/ 11000 = 0.86
    3000 i forgot to pay myself 3-5k 3k+5k+4k+500 maintenance = 12500/11000=1.13

I have a some questions if you could help this immigrant that so grateful with the usa Ill be more with this community.
Are these numbers realistic for me?
1.Should i buy new truck or fix one up. im thinking detriot 60 since its cheaper to work on. im more concerned also on getting best mpg
2.Is it possible to depend on loadboards for work?
    3. Are loadboards the normal way owner operators usually get work and is this the main source of getting work?
4 when leasing on to a company do they provide insurance or do i have to supply my own insurance? with my record no company will bring me on , right?
    5. Is it really that hard to get work for a new authority ? WHat should i do in this situation in order to get work?
6is it hard to get loads that pay 8k or more? is it true that loads like this come out of cali?
If i have a truck that could go into california will i be able to make more money. I wanna stay on the road. and work hard.
what state should i open up my llc ?
I have a lic from nyc also with a mvr that is not as bad as the florida one. should i get my cdl through new york?
    7. after 4 years will my insurance go down by 50 percent yu think?

    austinmike Thanks this.

With your driving record, you are not going to get insurance. If you are puffing the weed, you will not be able to pass drug screens either. Seriously, you need to consider another line of work.

Go clean for at least 10 years from your most recent traffic conviction -- & you might have a shot at it.

If you're in it on any level -- get out of recreational drugs, as well.

When/if you do start -- don't buy your own truck. Drive for someone else for a while.

Like I said in the other thread, I'll repeat:

The say people should stop while their ahead. At this point, you should only stop when you're behind. All what you described, if it happened in the last 3 years, you'll need to get that record cleaned up. Refused breath test, suspended license, and reckless driving are gonna create concerns for all companies.

i seriously doubt you have all that cash on hand and such a high credit card balance, with all those fines, and tickets, court costs, lawyers fee's etc., on you.

    i smell a troll..........

maybe go now to Venezuela, and get a head start on your retirement
