Thought about starting a thread about vibrations. Everyone has them or had them at some time.
You can list the type of vibration you had and the cause of it. Say if it was RPM related or SPEED related or both.
Example. Worn cupped or flat spot tire that would be speed related correct or warped drive shaft would be RPM related.
Also if you feel like explain how you found the cause if the vibration. Hope this thread helps some learn or even solve some current vibration issues.

I had a bad drive tire and my old freightliner would vibrate at speed above 55mph. Replaced that one tire and it was fine.
Do them centramatics help at all on dampening tire vibration or are they wasted money? -
I have them on all axles. They do nothing to stop any significant vibration that you can feel from the cab, and the ones on the drives are a waste of money. On the steers tho, whenever wear finally sets in, it will cause the wear to 'walk' around the tire a bit more (giving slightly more life before the tire needs replacing) than without.
My opinion,..Great for the steers, waste of money for the back. -

I changed steer tires back in Jan'13, aligned, centramat-ed. Now left one is gone (~70,000 miles). Meritors axles on volvo's just suck. (

I got the KW 8 back suspension with the small air lines still haven't updated to the bigger air lines. Anyone have a part number for this. I think it's a kw part number and they sell this kit.
Sometimes I get a weird vibration and it feels speed related not rpm related. It's between 50-70 after 75 it feels smooth again. It's not always vibrating between those speeds its on and of. Sometimes it stay on for a while bu then when I try to repeat it to show someone and get second options what to look over since this thing I went over it with a few other from top to bottom.
i am told by many that's the way it is and just gotta live with it. I will not understand and accept this since this was not happening since purchase of truck. I'm second owner and it started doing this about 150k ago and I beep trying to figure out why. Checking tolerances and changing worn parts but their was few that needed to be replaced or changed.
Or point me to a reputable shop to check drive line angle since I don't have the tool to do this. Also I asked a few KW dealers the correct air bag height and they all have me different measurements. From center of axel to bottom of frame.

You don't need a special tool to check or set ride height. Just some ordinary wrenches I think a couple of 5/16's boxed ends are what I use. Go to the service desk at a KW dealer (not the parts desk) and ask them to print off the spec sheet specific to your VIN for setting checking ride height. It's two or three pages with pics etc. Keep that in your glove box.. It will show you how to check it and adjust. They told you right... measuring from the center of the rear axle (which is NOT the weld in the middle of the housing, that axle is kicked up at an angle and the weld is actually below true center) to the bottom of the frame rail, you'll have about an inch to play with.. Think mine is supposed to measure anywhere between 8-3/4" to 9-3/4"... ...loosen level valve bolts and pivot it one way or the other to raise or lower the height, measure and tighten back up... ...could be wrong but I don't think ride height out of spec will cause vibrations, it will cause awful driveline noises though.

I don't have a big enough protractor

Motor mounts where changed during overhaul. Thank yous for ideas and help. Gonna try and figure this out. Have a thread on this in the KW section also.
