Another idiot who thought he didn't need a radio this weekend on I-74 in Indiana. Landstar driver. Losing a stick-on placard on the rear of the trailer. Hopefully he didn't get reamed too hard by DOT, maybe that'll teach him to leave his radio on, nahhhh probably not.

Not a driver, but here's another fine example to keep the CB on...had to go to Cynthiana, KY after work Friday, got on i-75 north, when the radio comes to life warning folks about a wreck just past the I-64W/75N interchange and to stay out of the left lane. One bullet dodged.

On the return trip back to the home 20, report comes over the air that southbound 75 at the 107mm, truck trailer catches on fire..LONG delays being reported. So, with this info I was able to get off at the Iron Works PK/Horse Park exit, got on 25/Georgetown Rd, and made it back to the house in Lexington 25 minutes later. Another bullet dodged.

I know the radio traffic aint what it used to be up and down the roads, but there was a lot of chatter outside of these valuable traffic reports. Keep those radios on, it can save you down the road.

I'd put it like this: instead of just your eyes on the road you have an option to have years in addition to that. Yes, pretty often there is no useful info or just garbage, but when you need it for just one minute or even less, it may be VERY helpful.

I find that with a properly tuned radio, and a good antenna SYSTEM (yes, the coax, mount and stud DO MATTER) you can hear plenty of chatter on the radio, almost anywhere. Range is everything. Yes, it used to be that there were so many people talking that you didn't need to be able to talk 20 miles to hear chatter, but the band is far from dead, if your stuff is up to snuff.

It's still a useful tool even today , always nice to know which lanes are blocked and which lanes are open due to an accident that's up a head of you .

    Blaskowitz Thanks this.
