Anyone remember back in the early 90's,there was a CB Registry gig running of a charitable nature.

Proceeds went to something for kids,Drug Awareness or something like that ?
All names were put on the side of an 18 and went all over promoting
    their venue.

If you know what I'm talking about you'll know what color the cards were that they sent you after you registered.

    Anyway . . . . . who were they ?

I bought space on that truck, if it was the same one you're thinking of. Don't remember any cards, but they'd have been sent to my folks, as I was using their address. Was it a black KW?
The pen they had me use was a gold paint-pen.

They used to have a website, as I recall the outfit was out of California someplace. I was too cheap to sign up, but wasn't aware it was charity related.

REMEMBER most states have laws about " CHARITYS "

I ran Baseball teams for handicapped kids and again no matter how well meaning he could find the IRS and state tax people unhappy.....

I hope this was not the case ......

Thanks for all the replies so far.
Thats the intent of the post, which is to help me remember .....:biggrin_25523:
I dont think it was as we understand a "Charity" to be,therefore the reference was "Charitable"

I recall it did make a few lines in the truckin rags of the day,but........?

I do recall the advertisement was well covered and was nationwide,it was only like $3-$4 so what the heck type deal.

heck i remember when you bought a cb you got a call sign. usually 3 letters with 4 or 5 numbers like a ham radio operator. the call letters were assigned by the FCC.
they dropped that when CB radios boomed in popularity.

They stop in 1983 when several rule changes were made including removong the requirement you have a licensed person service your CB set.

NOW YOUR HELD NOT THE RADIO TECH .....

This is why so many are willing to mod sets they are not held
acountable you pay the fine .....
