kinda simple there my man Kelly has certification to prove he's a certified tech. mark has none nothing..no such thing as a cb god. arrogance is total b.s.--- Kelly has absolutely none of that he's humble and does what he does.which is mainly fixing other people's screw ups and that's the nice word... sorry their are a lot of better techs out there than mark. two right off the top are don in Erie pa.and Steve q5 in Madison wi...let it go man I'm telling you let it go. your playing with fire.

I guess you forget that I've been to Kelly while he was in Yuma Arizona and Don in Erie with my HR2510 and Steve at Q5 with another HR2510. I've been to almost all the shops from coast to coast. It's almost more important to me to be able to hear weak stations than it is for me to talk to them especially in the winter time. Kelly did a magnum S9 for me when he was in Yuma Arizona and the receiver had so much noise in it that it was kind of unusable for me. Somewhere in the neighborhood of -108dbm.
The audio was ok but it was kind of flat because it topped out at around 3000 Hertz.
Maybe he's improved his skills in the last 6 years I'm not sure.

I agree that compared to most of the technicians out there Kelly is actually pretty good. But compared to what I'm used to that's not really saying much

Is this pissing contest ever going to end? Ok we all have our favorite tech and cb shop and we swear to the quality of their workmanship and expertise, but it doesnt necessarily mean that tech A is better than tech B because my General Lee sounds better and and I can receive radio transmissions from Mars, and I have numerous videos to prove it, alright enough is enough. Lets all just keep buying our equipment from a business that we are happy with, and continue to have our radios tuned by a tech that we are happy with, and continue to share our experiences, good or bad, on this forum, but this constant bashing and criticising of every tech in the business, except one, ( we know who that is ) is getting really old. By the way my Dad can beat up your Dad! I have to start driving you all have a good morning, be safe out there.

I do know that if I had a TV or a VCR that needed to be repaired Kelly would be the man to take it to since that's what he specializes in

That's quite a shame because that was an awesome radio until you ran 300 watts into your dx1600 amplifier and then into a bad antenna stud with a bad connection instead of the stud Mark told you to use. I suppose if you were able to follow the instructions you were given you would have gotten lots of enjoyment out of that radio. I'm assuming you blew up your amplifier that generally is what happens when you do what you did. BTW your amplifier only calls for 20 watts carrier for 8 2sc2879 transistors. I believe you were instructed to keep your power knob at the halfway point and you failed to do that and you cranked It Wide Open into a bad stud or bad antenna system. You can't exactly blame Mark for your failure to follow instructions. A little bit of honesty goes a long way and it's worth telling the whole story instead of just part of the story

Reason for edit: It only takes 20 watts to drive a sweet 16

wrong totally and completely wrong just made a ### of yourself...the linear was never ever hooked up and run with the 98v. your buddy there took a radio that did 365/375 watts all day long. even though I run my radios only at 3/4 power. he decided to drop the dead key from 80 watts max down to 50 watts and the radio dropped to 300 watts total.he decided to go into the amp section below to snoop at the 5 yes 5 7530 erf mosfets Chris put in it. Chris yeah a real tech. he stripped one of the 4 bolts that holds the amp plate cover. nice hack job there mark.. that 98v.had the best receive on any radio I ever owned in fact it was irritating... had the best receive I said till your boy got a hold of it and turned it down so much I hardly ever heard anyone.... that b.s..knock off Wilson stud is never going on my truck it's a total joke.. to top it off he mark decided to put a switch on the nb/anl to shut the amp off . was not necessary...when you turned that switch and turned the amp off the radio did absolutely nothing... their are 3 wires that run the nb/anl Kelly could not find one of them at all when he did your man there closed the radio up with that wire stuffed stuck up under the faceplate smooth move their fine tune.he would have had to take the faceplate off the front of the radio just to find exactly where that wire was.out of the 3wires needed to be connected their was only 1. nice tune there buddy cost me $175 I gave the man $200 and for what a really nice hacked up jacked up radio...something wrong with someone who hides out in a camper...and does business on/off of Facebook....only and it costs you the customer the $$$$ to mail it to him and you pay to have it mailed back to you...
