Just wondering what size fuses are you using these cobra radios. I assume they are 29 ltd radios?

The purpose of the RF gain and the squelch are two different things. The. RF gains purpose is to reduce a very strong signal so it doesn't overload the radios receiver circuit. In other words, if your sitting at a truck stop and the driver next to you starts talking, he will probably sound fuzzy and hard to understand (assuming he's not using echo or a power mic), but just a stock radio in this example. Then you turn the RF gain down (counter clockwise), and his voice should be understandable and clear. Now if your driving down the road you need the RF gain turned up fully clockwise in order for the radio to hear as far away as the antenna system will allow.
Also when your driving down the road, adjust the squelch instead of the RF gain. The reason I say that is because when the skip is rolling, (I hate hearing all that noise), so I turn up my squelch clockwise to cut the noise out. The reason I do that is because of the needle on the radios meter. If the skip has an s9 signal and eventually the skip dies down, and I see the needle is around an s3, I just turn down the squelch again to the original setting. If you turn down the RF gain in this example, the needle won't show the correct reading, and you won't know when the skip dies down. So you won't hear anyone unless they are close to you.
Sorry for the long post, but I hope it helps.

Honestly, I don’t understand this radio crap and all it’s doing is really just pissing me off. I’m in a truckstop right now messing around setting since there’s a bunch of losers talking, but no matter what I do I hear static or I hear nothing at all it’s one or the other.

Well it's time to try the bonding. Do you have an external SWR meter? I can't remember if you had one or not. If you do what's the readings on channels 1, 20, and 40?

I don’t have one and no clue how to even use one if I did. Right now I’m trying to fix my ####ing inverter that’s smoking and glowing like it’s going to blow the #### up from running a 1700w air fryer when the ####ing inverter is 3000w.
