Texas Ranger TR966 CB (around $150)
Wilson FGT 5' Mobile Antenna (around $25) -
Getcha a Cobra 29 for around $89 and a nice metal antenna.

The Cobra is a good suggestion. Unidens have been great in the past (they use to make Cobra, President and a few other big names) and they still may be great. If I were in the market I would research Uniden first.
I agree with the poster about 5 foot antennas. Any shorter and the reduced bandwidth makes tuning more difficult and less able to cover all 40 channels. Take your pick: base loaded, helical loaded, whatever. If it is five feet long, designed for CB radio and tuned well it will work great electrically. You can judge the mechanical robustness of the antennas yourself while shopping.
